Mini Review: Night Circus

So I have just finished reading Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, which is about a magic challenge between Celia and Marco and a circus that opens night which is the arena for the challenge. It's really addictive with out giving too much away, as there's a lot of twists and 'curls' which keep you hooked.

What I liked about the book was the plot and the way it was written. The level of detail is incredible, however if you don't have much of an imagination you'd probably struggle with the book. I also liked the two of the older characters Hector and Alexander, who are the mentors of the players (Celia and Marco). I'd really like to know more about them as they seem much more interesting than the magic itself.

However, what I didn't like about the book was that the words 'curl' 'curls' 'curling' 'curled' appeared on every single page which really got under my skin. Also, it is very slow and then the ending, personally, seems anticlimactic.

Overall, I usually don't read books which are set in 1880 to 1940 but as it was pretty good I may consider reading more books like it, so it's really worth a reading.
